Wine Gift delivery in Toronto?

Hi all,
I need to have a nice bottle of champagne gift wrapped and delivered/shipped with a gift note in Toronto. Does anyone have a recommendation for a great shop/service?
Thanks in advance!
Michael

As you probably know all sale and distribution is controlled by the LCBO, which doesn’t have the level of customer service you’re looking for. Wine importers bring wine in through LCBO warehouses, pay the tax and allow you to buy from them as a private consumer but they must sell by the case, which doesn’t help you either.

Pandemic and beyond the LCBO began allowing licensed establishments to sell bottles to go, as long as it was accompanied by food. This opened up the market to bottle shops, and you’ll find many throughout Ontario including Toronto. Many simply sell small bags of chips, pickles, tinned fish, etc and require you buy something with the wine.

Of these, I’d recommend:

Sommelier Factory, run by MS Bruce Wallner

Peter Pantry

I’m sure you could work over email and/or phone with these places and they could fulfill your request. They will likely skew more toward grower stuff, but might have some from bigger houses too. Prices will be high because its marked up by LCBO, the importer, and the bottle shop, but they will have well selected stuff. Oh and you’ll legally probably need to have a food item come with the bottle.

Hope that helps!

You can use Vyno. I’m pretty sure they use LCBO’s inventory and make money on the shipping.
