You are a bad influence Rich…I mentioned previously that I already have enough wine to float a battleship!..but I just ordered 6-bottles of the 2018 Montecillo Vineyard Zin…
I started a locker a few weeks ago partly based on this thread. I told myself i would need to be a little aggressive to make sure I get up to 12 bottles within a few months when it cools down.
Based on my 60 seconds of research, I’d say Arrietta Quartet. Will continue doing more, but it looks like a fit. Note however that this is the smoke drenched 2020 vintage.
WS offered a mystery wine last year that ended up being Arrietta H Block, and they mentioned Andy Erickson as the winemaker.
Im not too knowledgeable on famed vineyards and sub-AVAs. Am i right that stagecoach is generally considered quite premium? Should i be more inclined to buy?
It is a well regarded vineyard - it’s also huge so there can be quite a bit of variation within Stagecoach. It’s not a factor that would sway me to buy in and of itself, without other factors like Producer, winemaker, vintage, and price point coming in to play
I would be buying this wine if I didn’t already own a few bottles of Three Revelers Stagecoach Cab. It has gotten great reviews on Vivino and CT and Intend to really like Cab from Stagecoach.
The Wine Spies email says the wine offered today is C1 from Pritchard Hill, not Stagecoach…and the label on the bottle only says “Napa Valley”. If you go on CellarTracker there is a separate wine from Three Revelers that has “Stagecoach” on the label. And if you go to the Three Revelers Website, the Napa bottling isn’t even listed as one of the wines they make…very confusing
The Wine Spies write up and email does not say “not Stagecoach.” See my picture above from the Wine Slash website who is currently selling the “Stagecoach Vineyard” version of this wine. It’s all there.
